Ramsay Street is still obsessed with sausages! Dee/Andrea (Madeleine West) is still hanging about like a bad smell, and I really need to know if she truly might be Dee – more twists to come yet? Plus it’s work experience time… here are the highlights:
Don’t so it Dee (or Andrea) ~ Dee is intent on breaking Toadie’s (Ryan Moloney) resolve as far as finding her attractive is concerned and she goes all out to lead him astray. The mental torment that poor Toadie is going through at the hands of the woman he believes he married is quite traumatic to watch, but that’s kudos to the pair of actors who are playing these scenes out admirably. I’m still wondering if we will find out that this is Dee and she thinks that she’s this lady called Andrea. Stranger things have happened!
Willow’s ID skills ~ Willow (Mieke Billing-Smith) proves herself to be an asset to Piper (Mavournee Hazel) when she provides more fake IDs so that they might make money. However, Elly (Jodi Anasta) is soon onto the scheme (of course, if it’s Piper, she’ll be on it!) and backs the penniless teen into a corner. Piper has to break the news to Tyler (Travis Burns) and Willow finds herself with all kinds of trouble coming her way. Until that is, she happens upon a way of blackmailing the astute teacher. Where Willow and her mother are concerned, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, that’s for sure!
Bangers to the sausages! ~ I just wanted to say enough with the sausage gags, the innuendo should have been left in the previous week. Leave sausages out of it, I thank you!
Work experience ~ Xanthe (Lilly Van Der Meer) and Ben (Felix Mallard) are on work experience and it’s not going too well. They’re on hospital placement with Ben following Dr Karl (Alan Fletcher) and Xanthe following Occupational Therapy. Xanthe has not got off to a good start with her supervisor and looks set to be doomed when her report comes out. Ben is feeling like he has bitten off more than he can chew and finds himself unable to handle the terminally ill diagnoses that his granddad thinks nothing of. While Ben is left considering whether medicine is the right path for him and Xanthe is feeling useless, along comes an opportunity for her to prove herself. A chopped off finger in the kitchen at the café puts her in the spotlight when she handles it brilliantly, as a result her placement is changed to nursing. Ah if only life were really that simple, eh?
Gary ~ Every soap has a character who is a bumbling and unfortunate kind of a fellow, Gary Canning (Damien Richardson) definitely takes that role in Ramsay Street. His comings and goings with Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglu) are quite pitiful in a way as she will likely drop him for Paul (Stefan Dennis) again when the fancy takes her. It’s no secret that Sheila (Colette Mann) is my favourite character in the show and the fact she’s his mum is actually reassuring for me, even though she is scatty and the comedienne of the piece! Verdict on Gary? Loveable and hopeless! Long may he continue to be so!
